Free LAMDA taster session coming up
Listed Under: News
Our present Lamda group took their Grade 5 exam last weekend, so we are now opening up the sessions to other people who might be interested.
We will be having a free taster LAMDA workshop on Wednesday 3 April from 6.30 - 8.00 at Pond Hills Lane Community Centre.
The group gives the opportunity for young people from Year 5 (age 9/10) and above to take LAMDA Grades 1 - 8 in Acting.
With the creative arts subjects frustratingly being marginalised in schools at the moment, passes in the top LAMDA grades would give a potential University student 12 extra UCAS points (a Grade B at A level provides 40 points).
If any student wishes to pursue an acting career, preparing and taking the LAMDA exams is the best way to prepare for auditions.

LAMDA is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected awarding bodies.
They have been offering practical examinations in communication and performance subjects for over 130 years.
Across the globe, these qualifications have helped people of all ages and abilities to develop lifelong skills.
LAMDA exams are about achievement – recognising and rewarding the endeavours of each individual – but they are also about empowerment.
LAMDA's ultimate aim is to provide all people with the opportunity to develop the life skills they need to be a success: attributes such as self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly and present ideas.
