Listed Under: News

You might have noticed a few new faces at Flying High this year. We've had lots of lovely new staff members join us and we're going to introduce you to all of them.

First up it's Jonathan and Tam:

Tam Roberts brings an international element to Flying High. From South Africa, she studied Drama and Psychology with Dance at the University of Cape Town. She also has a degree in Psychology and is currently studying for a Masters in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP).

She teaches dancing and creative movement to young adults in an inclusive session for Inspire Youth Arts and assists with teaching and choreography with the Flying high Intermediate and Senior Dance groups.

Tam is joining the Positive Moves team, about which she said: "I am very excited to be part of the new class! Exploring through movement with these children is one of the highlights in my week.

"I believe deeply in the power of using movement and dance as a way of assisting people of all ages to begin to integrate all aspects of themselves; physically, cognitively, spiritually and emotionally in a creative and empowering manner."

Jonathan Tailor-Bird has a degree in dance from the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) and his speciality is in creative movement.

He has recently been working on the Emerge Festival with the Ashfield and Fountaindale Schools, rehearsing for four months leading up to the festival last month.

Jonathan has experience performing on the biggest of stages, including at the O2 Arena in London.

He is a father of three very energetic children and has also joined us to help lead our new Positive Moves youth dance class.

Welcome Jonathan and Tam!
