Our tutors are out there performing!

Listed Under: News

We are so proud that at Flying High we can offer teaching and guidance from talented people who are out there, performing in the real world at the same time as passing on their knowledge to our members.

And it seems that at the moment there has been a rush of our teachers, directors and board members getting involved with shows and tours.

Here's a little breakdown but click on their names for more information!

Jack Quarton - One of our directors and a guest workshop leader

Jack is about to start rehearsals for a rep show very soon, meaning he will perform three shows almost simultaneously.

He will be using his actor musicianship skills in in Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest and Swallows & Amazons during his time at Storyhouse in Chester.

Jen Manderson - One of our directors and a guest workshop leader

Jen is touring the UK with dance company Spiltmilk, performing the The Little Love Cabaret.

The show comes to the East Midlands this month, so click on the link and find out where you can catch it!

Georgie Saunders and Emily Thurston - Flying High tutors

These guys are still out on tour performing The Beautiful Game with Next Door Dance, a group led by none other than Jen Manderson.

Tash Bird - Workshop leader

Tash has been away touring in New Zealand and has now headed to America where she is spending her time doing what she loves - writing and playing music!

Now she heads off on a tour which takes in seven US states across the southern part of the country.

Rachel Bird and Aaron Belcher - Teachers and workshop leaders

Rachel and Aaron will both be performing in Grace - The Lighthouse Girl, a musical about Grace Darling at Guildhall Theatre in Derby.

The show takes place between 27 - 30 June.

Sue Drew - Advisory board member

Sue, who will have taught so many current and former members during her many years with us since the inception of Flying High, is keeping on performing in retired life.

She is in another Lace Market Theatre performance - this time Moliere's The Bourgeois Gentleman.

Now if that's not proof of professional experience in our ranks, we don't know what is!
